Experiences on May, 2016
Turku library has acted as a coordinator in a project CreaDream Forum in Library (Nordplus Adult development project 2015 - 2016) , where has been tested new ways to work in library. In CreaDream Forum in Library, we have focused on developing functions that support the building of motivation.
We have found out that the building blocks of motivation contain basic needs like freedom, growth and sense of community. When these needs are supported it increases passion to be open to new ideas, to do new things, and gives courage to implement new ideas.
We have experienced that co-operation with Valmiera and Tallinn libraries has been inspiring, energetic and empowering to the participants. In this co-operation we have gained a lot of understanding in how to reach the same goal in different ways and with different working methods. The working methods in this co-operation has been creative. Now we want to widen our network and to work together towards a common goal: to create and to promote better services to customers in the library and at the same time promote new librarianship. We hope for partners and people, who are willing to put their whole personality to work and partners who see that enthusiastic and motivated library staff produce new, innovative and creative ways to work. We believe in international collaboration and it has the best possibilities to create new kind of boundary-breaking library culture.
